matcha chocolate covered strawberries with sweet cream πŸ“

inspired by madhappy pantry & nekohama matcha

makes about 2 small cups / 2 servings of matcha strawberries


ingredients

  • strawberries, washed & completely dried (no stems)

  • sweet cream

    • 1/2 cup (120g) heavy cream

    • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

  • matcha chocolate

    • 1 4oz bar white chocolate

    • 1/2 tbsp matcha powder, adjust to taste



tools

  • 2 glass cups

  • medium mixing bowl or jug

  • hand whisk or whisk

  • double boiler - small pot with medium heatproof bowl

  • silicone spatula

  • ice cream scoop or spoon



steps

  1. make the sweet cream: in a medium mixing bowl or jug, whisk together 1/2 cup (120g) heavy cream & 1 tbsp powdered sugar until creamy - do not overmix ! set aside in the fridge until ready to pour

  2. place a couple strawberries in a glass cup - you can place whole strawberries or cut them into smaller pieces

  3. make the matcha chocolate: in a double boiler, melt 1 4oz bar white chocolate, then sift in about 1/2 tbsp matcha powder (adjust to taste) and mix well until smooth

  4. assemble matcha strawberry cups: using an ice cream scoop or spoon, pour in a generous amount of matcha chocolate into glass cups with strawberries. then pour in a generous amount of sweet cream directly on top of matcha chocolate. serve immediately

  5. enjoy!
